Kitchen Lighting.
Good quality kitchen lighting is characterised by the use of numerous light sources rather than relying on the use of one or two bright fluorescent strip lights. The reason for this is that kitchens are predominantly work areas and require task lighting to be placed between you and the area in which you are working.
The solution to this in recent years has been to place banks of recessed lighting in the ceiling to create a good source of ambient light and then to target areas such as work surfaces with directional task lighting.
The typical kitchen lighting layout does its job fairly well but there is always room for improvement and this can be achieved with the use of led lighting. Typically most lighting in the kitchen uses halogen bulbs in the lighting fixtures and these are hugely inefficient to run as they operate at extremely high temperatures because 90% of the electricity they use is converted into heat and not light.
Replacing your old halogen spotlights is simply a matter of unscrewing them and then inserting your new led lights. The main reason for replacing your halogen kitchen lights is to put it simply money. Led lights run at a fraction of the cost of halogen spotlights and will hardly ever need replacing. The average led lamp will last for approximately 20 years without needing to be replaced which makes them ideal for those hard to reach areas.
Led lighting is also ideal for under cabinet lighting and for accenting shelves and cupboards as the latest led strip lights are only 2mm thick and can be applied just about anywhere. We always carry a full range of lighting accessories and wall sconces and ceiling fixtures are a speciality. |
